The Downtown Grand Las Vegas & the Life is Beautiful Festival
Life Is Beautiful Festival wristband

We stayed at the Downtown Grand Hotel – beautiful place! Great brand new clean room and bathroom but the shower has no door (what gives?) and the water pressure and temperature is a bit too low.… The beds are very comfortable and the decor is clean and modern. We found ear plugs on the bed side tables, then we found out that the music is REALLY loud, even from the 17th floor (but it doesn’t go very late, however, it starts at 8:30AM). Excellent customer service, everyone is super nice!

The Hogs and Heifers bar across the street from the Grand is crazy and has funny & hot bartender chicks wearing short shorts and cowboy hats, doing shots and dancing on the counter, Coyote Ugly style. The music is so loud though, that they need a megaphone to communicate….
The rooftop pool (ONLY rooftop pool in downtown Vegas) is nice, but a bit small and we didn’t see a jacuzzi. We got a covered cabana (you have to consume $350, which wasn’t hard) There were uncovered cabanas for $250 (WTF? the whole idea of getting a cabana is for the shade, right?) but there are free chairs and sitting areas, like little sofas. The bar is called Picnic and we had the chipotle sliders with fries, which were very tasty and the staff is attentive and friendly. There were bands playing and being interviewed by another radio station and the band Milky Chance made an appearance after their set at LIB festival. Their set was a bit mellow, there were not that many people in the audience, but everyone was having a great time, waiting for their big hit “Stolen Dance”.
