Listen to DAWES:
Dawes will begin their extensive North American tour at St. Paul’s Palace Theatre on September 7th and have just wrapped a string of dates opening for Jeff Lynne’s ELO, including shows at NYC’s Madison Square Garden and LA’s The Forum. These upcoming dates are the first leg on their ‘An Evening With DAWES: Passwords Tour’, with stops in cities including Atlanta, Portland, Seattle, & Austin (full dates below), and the band will perform two full sets of music each night with no opener. Tickets for all dates are on sale now and can be purchased here. Every online ticket purchase for an ‘Evening With’ Dawes show comes with either a physical CD or digital copy of their upcoming album Passwords.
Recently, Dawes returned to late night television to perform tracks from their celebrated new album Passwords on Jimmy Kimmel Live! (ABC) and Conan (TBS). The band performed a rousing rendition of “Mistakes We Should Have Made” on Conan, and the group performed “Crack The Case,” and “Living In The Future” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Rolling Stone said their appearance on Kimmel “showcased their heavy and gentle sides.”
Passwords is an album for and about the modern age: the relationships that fill it, the politics that divide it, and the small victories and big losses that give it shape. “We’re living in such a unique moment in history,” says lead singer and songwriter Taylor Goldsmith, “Many of these songs are an attempt to come to terms with the modern world, while always trying to consider both sides of the story.” NPR Music says that with the album, Dawes “returns to its greatest specialty: smooth and ingratiating California folk-rock that never bothers to hide its big, beating, bleeding heart” Passwords is available for purchase on all formats here.
